When life gets busy, it can be easy to fall out of your spiritual practice. After time, you might feel anxious to get restarted, even if you’re a seasoned practitioner! Where do you begin? How do you get back into your groove? If you’re facing paralysis analysis (the inability to make a decision due to being overwhelmed), here is a 7-day plan to get you back on your feet:

Day 1– Go into a quiet place and sit down. Be sure you’re comfortable! Burn an incense stick or cone of your choice (my favorite is Dragon’s Blood), close your eyes and chant ten times:

Love and Light with all my might

Warm as the day, cool as the night

In and out divine energy flows

With each breath my inner power grows.

Between each chant, take a deep breath and let it out. When you’re done chanting, open your eyes, thank your deities if you have them, and blow out the incense.

Day 2– Repeat day 1’s instructions, but do not blow out the incense when you’re done. Instead, read an article on herbology. If you need help finding one, click here. Once finished reading, blow out your incense.

Day 3– Repeat day 1’s instructions, but do not blow out the incense when you’re done. Do a divination working. Some good options are tarot, oracle cards, runes, scrying and throwing bones. Once finished divining, blow out your incense.

Day 4– Repeat day 1’s instructions, but do not blow out the incense when you’re done. Grab a pen and paper, then write out a current problem you have and a spell that would address it. It can be silly, short and super easy, this is a no pressure spell! Once finished writing, blow out your incense.

Day 5– Repeat day 1’s instructions, but do not blow out the incense when you’re done. Go into your kitchen, toss some herbs into a pot, add some water and brew a potion. Try to quiz yourself on what magickal correspondences match each of the herbs that you use. When it’s done, allow it to cool and then either bottle it up, or pour it outside as an offering. Once finished, blow out your incense.

Day 6– Repeat day 1’s instructions, but do not blow out the incense when you’re done. Sit quietly and meditate for ten minutes. Meditation allows us to shift our consciousness, which is one of the foundations to practicing magick. This is a skill we all need to have and can not afford to have weaken. If you need help meditating, click here. Once finished, blow out your incense.

Day 7 – Repeat day 1’s instructions, but do not blow out the incense when you’re done. Grab your journal and answer the following:

  1. How was your week?
  2. How was your mental state during the week?
  3. How are you feeling now after a week of magickal practice?
  4. What would you like to do next in your craft?

Once finished writing, blow out your incense.
